Kenneth Bruce Sweeten, Jr. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Age 40. Husband of 8 years to Paula Lynn Sweeten (nee Doughty). Step-father of Craig and Christen Doughty. Son of Kenneth Bruce and Mary (nee Lewandowski) Sweeten of Gibbstown. Son-in-law of Gail Charlton and her husband Bill of Fairton. Brother of Kathy Torrance and her husband Mike of Malmora. Born in Woodbury, Kenny was a lifelong resident of Gibbstown. He was a 1991 graduate of Paulsboro High School and later earned a Bachelors degree in Law Enforcement from Glassboro State College. Kenny was a police officer with Wildwood for two years and had been working for the Elk Township Police Department for the past 13 years and a member of the Gloucester County PBA, Local 122. He was also a member and lector at the Saint Claire of Assisi Parish as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Kenny enjoyed weight lifting and video gaming, was a fan of the Boston Bruins, and loved spending time with his family.
